Sažetak
Giftedness is a multidimensional spectrum of a combination of personality traits, abilities and creativity. However, it should be borne in mind that a child who is intellectually advanced is not necessarily such in its own emotional and / or motor area or in social skills. This means that a child who is gifted in one area may even be below average in another area. This paper focuses on observing the relationship between giftedness and fine motor skills. Fine motor skills, which imply precise movements, constitute the basis of many school skills, and are also one of the main predictors of students' school success. Many disciplines imply that fine motor skills are important in identifying the gifted which is why fine motor skills are given even greater importance in upbringing and education. The environment for the gifted has an important role in the development and understanding of giftedness. Therefore, it is the schools’ responsibility to provide better support and active assistance in the successful development of their giftedness, but also to act preventively. The paper also presents a case study of two gifted students who participated in a one-year extracurricular crochet activity. The study focused on hands-on learning and learning by using fine motor finger movement, as well as the students’ (below average) results.
