Sažetak
Laminated glass has, due to its mechanical characteristics, transparency, attractive appearance of environmental friendliness occupancy, an increasingly important place in the design of structures. In the design of laminated glass elements, regulations [1] suggest calculation using a monolithic panel with assigned effective thickness. Laminated glass is actually composite material, and its behavior depends on constituent materials especially on the type of interlayers. Generally, we do not have enough knowledge about the bearing capacity of laminated glass [2], and transfer of shear forces between the glass plies in perpendicularly-loaded laminated panels [3]. This transfer depends significantly on the stiffness of the polymeric interlayer, which is time-dependent and temperature-dependent. Considering effects of composite action between large oscillation in mechanical properties depending on temperature, load duration, moisture, etc., this research deals with the structural behavior of a laminated glass girder composed of two glass plies coupled with different types of interlayer like PVB, EVA and ionoplast exposed to bending. Except for the influence of the type of interlayer this investigation includes analysis of structural behavior of laminated glass caused by changing of mechanical properties of the interlayer regarding temperature changing. A parametric numerical analysis of laminated glass girder exposed to four-point bending test regarding time-dependent and temperature-dependent changing of interlayer’s stiffness will be presented in this paper. The presented numerical model will be validated with experimental results taken from the literature. Those results will contribute for laminated glass structures to be designed more safely and economically for practical use.
