Sažetak
In 1921 Wittgenstein's Tractatus Logico- Philosophicus was first published and, as Russell claimed in his introduction when the book was published in English just a year later, it represented an important event in philosophy. Tractatus adressed central problems of philosophy as Wittgenstein saw them and dealt with the world, tought and language. Finally, it offered a solution grounded in logic and in the nature of representation. Although Wittgenstein himself never was a part of the Vienna Circle, he was involved in discussions with some members of the Vienna Circle and to them his Tractatus represented an important text due to its approach to cognitive status of mathematics which represented a major obstacle for grounding empiricism the way Vienna Circle wanted to. The most notable member of the Vienna Circle influenced by Wittgenstein's Tractatus was Rudolf Carnap. By leaning on Wittgenstein's work Carnap developed what is often considered to be the first theory of mind as a computational process and which in turn influenced development of concepts such as artificial neural networks. By examining the influence it had on Carnap's work in computationalism, it is possible to see Wittgenstin's Tractatus as a distant but very important starting point of development of some concepts that are used in developing AI today.
