Sažetak
The paper presents a method for the optimum design of level-luffing crane mechanism with an 8 bar linkage system.
The problem is solved by using a combination of kinematic analysis, optimal synthesis of the mechanism with nonlinear programming and the evaluation of results by the designer.
The optimum design method consists of the following four phases:
1. Synthesis of the level-luffing mechanism, by minimization of the reduced load force;
2. Evaluation of results and their elaboration by the designer, with the specification of physical properties of the links, such as the mass, center of mass and moment of inertia;
3. Optimal synthesis of the counterbalance mechanism, with minimization of the drive force function;
4. Design of the counterbalance mechanism, final kinetostatic analysis of the mechanism with calculation of their joint and link loads, stress analysis, checking of the results.
The paper also outlines the methodology of the synthesis of complex design systems by using interactive design optimization. The optimum design process was made for cranes with the maximum reach-radius from 28 to 40 m.
