Sažetak
For understanding of any kind of message - pictorial, tonal, gesticulatory or one implying a rich, language-like syntax - the recognition of the sender's communicative intention is indispensable. Such recognition in turn requires certain "mind-reading" or "empathic" abilities on the side of the receiver, enabling the receiver to take up an "intentional stance" (Dennett) toward the sender. The paper deals with the application of this model of communication to the problem of interstellar message composition.
