Sažetak
Grapevine Flavescence dorée disease is a quarantine disease that can cause the decay of a large number of vines in a short term and cause significant economic damage. Basic preconditions for the epidemic spread of the disease are the presence of infected vines and the presence of the primary vector - American grapevine leafhopper (Scaphoideus titanus Ball. 1932). By the Decision on determining demarcated areas of the Ministry of Agriculture Republic of Croatia in which measures for violation of the spread and control grapevine Flavescence dorée disease are implemented, the whole area of Ilok town is marked as infected. During 2020 in 23 vineyards in the area of the town of Ilok, yellow sticky traps were placed in the period from June to September in order to monitor the presence of the American grapevine leafhopper. In each vineyard, five sticky traps were placed and were replaced every 14 days. The first adult grapevine leafhoppers were recorded in the mid-July. The obtained results confirmed the presence of the American grapevine leafhopper in all investigated vineyards but their number varied significantly. Samples of plant material were also taken in all vineyards in order to determine the presence of grapevine Flavescence dorée disease. The presence of a large number of adult vectors poses an exceptional risk of epidemic spread of grapevine Flavescence dorée disease.
