Sažetak
It has been empirically shown that high scores on spatial abilities tests can serve as a predictor for occupational/vocational choices (Shea et al, 2001). Although there is evidence of gender differences in spatial abilities (Linn & Petersen, 1985 ; Sorby et al 2014 ; Németh and Hoffmann, 2006), with regard to mental rotation it has been shown in a research done by Voyer et al (1995) that gender differences are especially large. With regard to tools for empirical research, four spatial ability tests have been outlined in this paper which are specifically important for research in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields – Mental Rotation Test ( MRT), Mental Cutting Test (MCT), The Differential Aptitude Test: Space Relations (DAT:SR) and Purdue Spatial Visualization Test ; Rotations (PSVT:R) (Shea et al, 2001 ; Maeda & Yoon, 2013, Tsutsumi et al 1999).
