Sažetak
Mycotoxins represent a serious problem in food and feed safety. In animal production this toxins could cause important economic losses both during the breeding, due to impaired growth or major sensibility to the illnesses, and commercialisation of the products, due to their impaired value. In last five decades different strategies for control of mycotoxins in food and feed and decontamination of food and feed stuff have been proposed, but none of them has solved the problem. Most of the applied strategies, both in control and detoxification, are based on use of chemicals and thus could represent environmental hazard. The research on more environmental friendly tools in mycotoxin control is ongoing since decades. The mushroom products showed interesting features in mycotoxin control and detoxification of feed stuff from mycotoxins. Mushroom enzymes can degrade some mycotoxins (aflatoxins i.e.) while mushroom polysaccharides demonstrated the ability to control the production of different mycotoxins simultaneously. In this work an overview of the last results in possible application of mushroom enzymes and polysaccharides in mycotoxin control and detoxification of contaminated feed will be presented.
