Sažetak
The paper defines newspaper records and their role in museum practice as part of the secondary documentation. Optimization possibility in newspaper records gathering methods is considered through collaboration with libraries and publishers. Publishers are required to deliver legal deposits of published material to libraries, which will, at some point, need to be digitized. This practice makes for the unnecessary waste of time and resources considering the fact that the most of today’s publications are originally produced in digital form. The paper presents an overview of a legal system surrounding legal deposits and digital print masters as well as their possible use for the museum newspaper records.
