Sažetak
Following Kristin Boyce (2018) who draws attention to Plato's intertext in Ibsen's dialogues, this article argues that Plato's „book-as-child“ metaphor is transposed in Ibsen's "Hedda Gabler" and "Little Eyolf". Starting from Lacanian reading of Plato's "Symposium", the paper aims to show that parallelism between Ibsen’s object little e and lacanian objet petit a – functions as an embodiment of textual enigma: an enigma of the lost object and the power of its metaphorical substitutions.
