Sažetak
In this research with the purpose of improvement of travel comfort the fuzzy inference system for automatic temperature control in long distance passenger trains has been developed. The system can determine the required value of the passenger compartment temperature in the train, considering not only the difference between an outdoor and onboard temperatures but also the parameter of remaining train running time to the next scheduled stop for passenger exchange. The role of this parameter is to gradually adjust the passenger compartment temperature to outdoor air temperature on the next boarding/alighting station, depending on the value of remaining train travel time to reach this station continuously forecasted by traffic control centre and sent to train by radio signal. Additional benefit of this control method is positive impact on passenger safety in cases of extremely high outdoor temperatures on the boarding/alighting station, where a difference between outdoor and onboard temperature in the boarding space of train higher than 8°C may cause health problems to passengers.
