Sažetak
Medieval sources indicate that the local bishops showed a marked choice for the local martyrs whose relics they owned and who became patron saints. This chapter aims to establish the broad cultural context in which objects of devotion from the Poreč cathedral were produced, presented, and transformed in the Middle ages. The aim is to explore the liturgical evidence in the elaborated cultural environment introduced by both religious institutions and political representatives considering elementary forms of religious communication based on mosaic images, reliquaries, and inscriptions from Poreč cathedral.
