Sažetak
The Dictionary of Vexillology is a project and an on-line publication started in 2005 by Andries Petrus Burgers, Terence Martin and Christopher Southworth (eventually joined by the author) and published on line as part of the Flags of the World web site. It is an English dictionary of vexillological terminology, compiled from various vexillological sources covering over 2100 main entries plus a few hundreds in the appendices, most of them illustrated with several figures explaining the concept. The paper provides an overview of comparable dictionaries in English and other languages and of the general development of vexillological terminology. The 10th anniversary of uninterrupted updates and enlarging seemed like an appropriate opportunity to present it, its beginnings and development at the Sydney International Congress of Vexillology. The paper exemplifies some issues that arose in front of the editorial team, the decisions and explanation of their resolution as well as posing some questions into further development of the project and of the vexillological terminology in general.
