Sažetak
The book establishes various literary and visual criteria for history of children's books in Croatia. It is in itself a pioneering attempt to approach children's books as a intermedia and performative genre with multiple artistic, not only commercial or didactic criteria. It is also the first historically grounded comparison between visual and verbal narration in children's books. The book consists of historical and contemporary analysis of writing and illustrating in the domains of art and literature for children. The link between writers and illustrators is thoroughly investigated. Using the poetic space of water jmaginarium, the book presents a century of dramaturgical changes in making and understanding children's books. The book also studies and presents rich sample of Croatian writers and illustrators.
