Sažetak
The efficient expert systems for reasoning about complex physical systems together with methods for automatic synthesys of models and learning, represent the new class of second generation expert systems. These techniques will enable the development of tools which are necessary for reasoning about systems in complex, for now not always suitable domains. Thereby not only that hard problems from such domains will be solved more easily, but the expert systems for a wide class of industrial problems, ranging from prognosys and diagnosys to control of industrial processes, will become more feasible. The basic knowledge acquisition principles and techniques concerning the record keeping activity of the ship construction will be briefly illustrated in the paper. The selection of the most suitable and applicable knowledge representation forms and shemes for the purpose of implementation into the expert system will be given. Applying the A. I. language Turbo Prolog ver. 2.0. the software consultation module (knowledge base core) has been built on IBM PC for illustrative purposes.
