Sažetak
European Commission EASME has selected the consortium led by MRAG Europe and MRAG Ltd in partnership with AZTI Technalia (AZTI), Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (Cefas), National Institute of Aquatic Resources (DTU Aqua), Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO), Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera (IPMA), Marine Institute, Thuenen Institute, and Stichting DLO (including Wageningen Economic Research and WUR) to implement the Framework Contract (FWC) EASME/EMFF/2018/011-Lot2, ““Western Waters and ORs”. This technical proposal relates to Specific Contract No. 6 – “Study on state-of- the-art scientific information on the impacts of aquaculture activities in Europe”. Its purpose is to clarify the scientific basis about the positive and negative impacts of aquaculture in the EU from the economic, environmental and social point of view, in order to facilitate a well-informed debate. The study is based on desk review of scientific evidence in the target area. Case study Croatia – sea cage aquaculture of seabass and seabream was aimed to identify the relevant national legislation measures that seek to mitigate impacts and their relation to scientific published data and grey literature. Eventually, there were interviews conducted with the national authorities and the sector experts to examine compliance of the relevant national legislation, published literature and the related grey documents for Croatia in the sector of marine aquaculture (for seabass and seabream).
