Sažetak
The architectural achievement of Milan Mihelič’s “Department Store”, was realized from 1963 to 1967, during the urban project Reconstruction of the “Block Centar” in the city of Osijek, by the author Radovan Miščević in the 1965. “Department Store” was awarded with the federal prize “Borba” in the 1967. It testifies about the authentic identity prototype of the “department store architecture” with a skeletal steel construction and escalators in which the context of the Borba’s award impels the difference between the realized original and the further codification of the department stores that followed in the Yugoslavian architectural space.
