Sažetak
Proficiency testing is an interlaboratory comparison procedure to demonstrate the competence of the participant laboratories. Results conducted during testing are compared to reference values. Participation in proficiency testing provides participants an objective way of assessing their competence and gaining confidence in their measurement results. This paper describes the performance of the pilot test of proficiency testing for non-destructive ultrasonic thickness measurement using the pulse-echo technique. A proficiency testing scheme was designed, measurements on four samples by five participant laboratories were conducted, and the statistical analysis of the results was obtained according to the HRN EN ISO/IEC 17043:2010 standard. To examine the laboratory's ability to measure unique specimens, the emphasis of the test is put on specimens of different dimensions and surface states. Participants conducted the measurements using various measuring equipment and in different measurement modes by their routine procedures. Finally, possibilities of errors, which cause laboratory incompetence, are given, as well as corrective actions, by which laboratories could improve their measurement ability.
