Sažetak
Comparing insular diets on a regional as well as local scale can yield significant details relating to the reconstruction of past populations regardless of the archaeological period in question. The minute but potentially significant differences that can arise from such research may indicate variable socio-cultural contrasts in the studied populations. The results of the 𝛿13C and 𝛿15N stable isotope analysis of 24 human samples from the Late Antique-Early Medieval civic site of Mirine located on the island of Krk, and the same- period ecclesial site of Martinšćica located on the island of Cres, attest to that proposition, thus offering an excellent ground for comparing previously published results from geochronologically similar sites.
