Sažetak
Steel-concrete composite floor systems are one of the most cost-effective construction systems due to reduced self-weight, the possibility of a high degree of prefabrication, and capability for large spans. Such advantages depend on the efficiency of combining structural materials and utilising system components in such a manner to avoid their inherent disadvantages. Recently started research project LWT-FLOOR at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Zagreb, Croatia, investigates a solution for composite floor systems that integrates state-of-the-art knowledge in innovative cold-formed steel-concrete composite solutions as fast and productive spot-welding technology. The floor system combines built-up cold-formed steel beam and cast-in-place concrete slab using innovative shear connectors. This paper presents a numerical study on such composite steel-concrete elements where different arrangements of spot weld connections between the built-up steel elements and variable degrees of shear connections are analysed. Numerical parametric analyses were performed using ABAQUS/CAE software. Results of the parametric study show that the bending capacity of the LWT- FLOOR beams made of cold-formed steel and the cast-in-place concrete slab is affected by the stability of the cold-formed steel components, as well as by the type and degree of shear connection.
