Sažetak
Cognitive justice is an epistemological, ethical and political ideal to make socially relevant knowledge accessible all over the planet, not only in the Global North, while enhancing the knowledge that is created or transmitted there. Cognitive justice stresses the empowerment of practicing scientists and students from the Global South ; the “epistemologically disenfranchised, ” as Odora Hoppers (2013) described them. The idea is to promote the tools to put their knowledge creation potential at the service of sustainable local development. This can be achieved only if a post-colonial pedagogy is developed so researchers can free themselves from imposed western paradigms. This chapter will provide some suggestions as to how this ideal can be achieved.
