Sažetak
From October 2001 to April 2002, the resistance patterns of clinically significant isolates of S. pneumoniae were studied.A total of 73 isolates were analysed.Among them 35 (47.9%)strains were susceptible to penicillin (MIC<0.064 mg/L), while the rest (38 ; 52.1%) were intermediately resistant (MIC 0.125-1.0 mg/L). Resistance to macrolides was observed in 20 (27%)isolates. Nine of them (12.3%)were resistant only to erythromycin and azithromycin, suggesting phenotype M resistance, while eleven (15.1%) strains showed resistance to macrolides and clindamycin, suggesting MLSb type of resistance.
