Sažetak
Seawater quality is one of the key parameters with a strong impact on all aspects of mariculture, and its continuous monitoring is crucial in order to increase both production quality and quantity. This paper outlines the implementation aspects of the collaborative Interreg ADRION project SEAVIEWS (SEctor Adaptive VIrtual Early Warning System for marine pollution), emphasising the development of an early warning system for preventing and mitigating the diffusion of marine pollution. Moreover, during the implementation of the SEAVIEWS Project, the installation of the proper equipment in the Krka River estuary, an area with numerous mussel farms, is included. Measurement results obtained from the probe in the Krka River are going to be integrated along with the measurements from other 17 probes in the overall project framework, consisting a transnational network developed within the SEAVIEWS project. The paper includes a description of the project structure, basic principles of the virtual early warning system, features of the selected installation area, equipment characteristics and technical issues inherent to the installation, operation and maintenance.
