Sažetak
This chapter is aimed at providing an overview of the conceptual and empirical contributions of psychology to the understanding of harmony, a dimension that only recently attracted the interest of researchers within the evolving domain of well-being, happiness and good life studies. Harmony as a component of positive human functioning was variously defined, operationalized and investigated in the contexts of interpersonal and community relations, religion and spirituality, and individual well-being. Although not explicitly described as a virtue, harmony shares several features with some of the virtues identified and classified by psychologists ; therefore the exploration of its potential as a virtue may represent a new research avenue not only within the specific field of psychology, but also in the domain of interdisciplinary studies.
