Sažetak
The use of semi-adjustable articulator has become more popular for prosthodontic rehabilitation individual setting of mechanical fossa of an articulator by border movements, make an instrument (articulator) more accurate, and results the more harmony between the restoration fabricated and the posterior determinants of temporomandibular joints. ln daily practice the both designees of semi-adjustable articulators (arcon and nonarcon) are still in use. From the clinical point of view we found interest to investigate the difference between these two types of articulators. The aim of this study was to investigate difference in condilar path inclination, produced by individual setting, between arcon and nonarcon articulator. Investigation was made on 30 patients, all with full dental arches. Individual setting of condilar path inclination was produced by intraocclusal registration of border movements. Both articulators were semi-adjustable from same manufacturer (Artex, Girrbach Dental GmbH), and the same face-bow was used (Rotofix-style ear face-bow, Girrbach Dental GmbH). Results of the study show that nonarcon type of articulator produced a difference between an open position (position where the articulator settings were adjusted), and a closed position (position at which the articulator was used). These differences were not significant so we can say that arcon type is more precise, but the both types of articulators are suitable in every day clinical use.
