Sažetak
In comparison to some Western and Northern European Countries, Croatia is a "sport nation", which keeps being confirmed through the results in elite sport. However, the country is definitely not a "sports-recreation nation": only 7% of the adult population is engaged in recreational sporting activities. According to the current knowledge in prevention of diseases through physical activity, the Croatian organisation of Sport for All is engaged in designing and conducting the programs of HEPA (health enhancing physical activity) all over Croatia. Taking insight into the overall Croatian morbidity data gives the explanation why the understanding of activity-health relation is needed in Croatia.
