Sažetak
Abstract. The primary goal of this paper is to determine the connection between winning the first point in the match and the final outcome of the match with the hypothesis that the wrestlers who score the first point will also be the winner of the match. The sample of respondents consists of 272 top wrestlers in Greco-Roman style, participants in the wrestling competition at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. They participated in the weight categories: 59, 66, 75, 85, 98 and 130 kilograms. For the notational analysis of each technical-tactical element in all matches, three experts independently conducted the analysis. The obtained data indicate an extremely high percentage of victory of the wrestlers who achieved the first point in the match. The highest percentage was obtained in the category up to 85 kg kategory, where in almost 92% of fights the wrestler who wins the first point is also the winner in the end (only in 2 fights the wrestler who scored the first point was not the winner). The lowest percentage was achieved in the category in 66 kg category, but it is still extremely high value of 85.72%. The recommendation for wrestlers is to conceptualize their tactics of fighting from the very beginning very actively with the aim of winning points in the throw or if the throw fails, the activity itself can bring them a point from the referee. The restlers who score first, determined by statistical significance 85-92% at the and win in wrestling fight.
