Sažetak
Christopher Dawson was one of the most influential and significant British cultural historians and philosophers of the entire 20th century. His basic thesis is that, spiritually speaking, the Christian religion is a key factor in the rise of what is generally called European culture. This same culture was indisputably created in cooperation, but also in the conflict of European national communities. That shows the essence of Europe - it is not a continent but a community of different peoples united around their own culture as the bearer of European identity.
