Sažetak
How often do we work against the clock trying to meet a deadline. Time and speed have become our obsession and part of everyday reality. Teaching business English at intermediate and upper-intermediate level offers manifold opportunities. Each unit in course books such as business objectives, business opportunities, business assignments, new insights into business, keys to management, etc. opens doors to additional materials in different fields of study (company profiles, MBO, presentations, verbal/non verbal communication, Brand Image - the list is endless). Such topics stimulate both students and teachers to develop ideas, improve their knowledge, not only of the language they study, but everything the language represents: culture, idioms, as expressions of our conceptual integration of certain values, beliefs and life styles, which lead to appreciation of differences as quality of life. As an example, I have chosen Time Management, trying to define what do we mean when we say time, the concept of time in idiomatic expressions and Time Management as an important field of study.
