Sažetak
In order to raise people's awareness, it is crucial to have data available on the actual and current situation regarding marine litter. Marine litter is difficult to identify mainly because of its inaccessibility, making mapping a complex and difficult process. To facilitate access and gain insight into the state of the sea, various monitoring methods are now used. Monitoring of litter is the most important and indispensable part of the mapping process itself, so monitoring methods and platforms are presented and thoroughly examined accordingly. The aim of this paper is to identify available mapping techniques, highlight the importance of mapping and present the challenges involved.
