Sažetak
After World War 2 many believed that in the future people will be freed from work due to the development of new technologies. Till the 1970's the new technologies led the idea of work to a different path which meant bridging time and space limitations. Those novelties made possible for all production plants to move into areas of cheap work force. To maintain its competitiveness the Western world introduced the neoliberal model of complete flexibilisation of the global market. The flexibilisation process influenced the workers the most. Workers had to give up rights that were insured by the welfare state and embrace new risks that were produced in the connection of neoliberalism and globalisation. In that new situation workers couldn't longer identify with the proletariat typical for the previous era. On the other hand workers couldn't identify with the middle class that had stable work conditions and benefits. The new global processes created a new social layer that is characterised by its unstable position and precarity on the labor market.
