Sažetak
The biggest lack of Croatian competitors is recorded in average number of training per week (TR./WEEK) that prominently falls behind needed (7-9 training per week for that age). It is not questionable that with increasing of training weaker results recorded in tests of strength (PULL-UPS, ABSPB, BENCH, and SQUAT) would be repaired. Positive moves in that direction are increasing the number of training per week for cadets in some clubs, starting the international cadet lique and summer wrestling school (now in Duga Uvala). Second noticed problem is relatively weak competition. Namely, on the international cadet championship now are competing approximately 90 cadets (age 15 to 17 years). Even that number is constantly increasing, weak competition is still viewable in the easiest and heaviest weight categories. In that categories placing take mostly wrestlers that are not biologically matured (AGE) and do not have required body weight (WEIGHT) for that weight category (CATEGORY) in which they are competing. That problem of quality competition should be solved in 2 directions. In the first, trainers should pay special attention in selection of boys in wrestling, observing peculiarities of anthropological status of different weight categories. In the second, creation of conditions for raising quality of work in present clubs and opening new ones. As example we name again prestigiously organised work in the Wrestling club “ ; ; Metalac” ; ; , and very good work of the newer club “ ; ; Hrvatski dragovoljac” ; ; . Those clubs have, in short time, became significant carriers of quality wrestling in Croatia. Induced measures would surely contribute to keep positive trend, volume and increase of quality in Croatia to continue.
