Sažetak
Marine pollution is a worldwide issue that affects the marine environment and causes harm to marine flora and fauna. To prevent marine pollution, the negative effect of human activities must be reduced and timely response to already caused ones should be ensured. On this behalf, many projects and programmes that tackle marine environmental vulnerability are set in motion. The Interreg ADRION project “Sector Adaptive Virtual Early Warning System for marine pollution” (SEAVIEWS) belongs to this cathegory. The main goal of the SEAVIEWS project is to develop an early warning system for monitoring and controlling marine pollution in different locations across the Adriatic Ionian region. This is achieved by installing a number of stationary and moving sensors and creating a transnational network that will be used for storing and analysing data, but also detecting environmental anomalies. SEAVIEWS platform, developed during the project, is used as a central data-storage point that can be accessed by all relevant stakeholders. Additionally, to obtain a wider database with more diverse data, the general public is approached to raise awareness of marine pollution and encourage participation in its prevention. This paper describes the methodology of the project. i.e. the installation of the multiparameter probe in a fish farm in the Krka River estuary and the following details, and first measurement results, conducted during the summer months, are presented in the end. The probe monitored 9 parameters: temperature, depth, pH, conductivity, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, TDS (Total Dissolved Solids), ORP (Oxygen Reduction Potential) and salinity. The results showed a higher water temperature, as expected in the summer period. Salinity is the greatest issue because of the frequent inflow of freshwater and therefore shows different results. Other parameters show relatively uniform results with occasional peaks.
