Sažetak
An explosive increase of IoT devices for weather and land observation results with enormous datasets of environmental data. The solutions for managing Big Data moved from relational databases to NoSQL databases. However, NoSQL databases are not optimized for environmental use cases, containing both spatial and temporal components. In this paper, the Discrete Global Grid System, common solution to spatial partition of the Earth, is presented in the context of possible solution to efficient organization of spatio-temporal data.
