Sažetak
Pain is the main reason for the patient’s treatment, and the patient’s expectations are focused primarily on the elimination of pain. Appropriate pain treatment is of great importance for the patient and the therapist. Research shows that experience of pain in children can have long- lasting consequences. Etiological treatment is the basic principle of pain relief. Analgesics are used as secondary therapies. Due to limited analgesic efficacy, various side effects, and possible interactions with other drugs, it is necessary to properly select the type of analgesics and appropriate dosage. The types of analgesics used in children and pregnant women will be presented for the purpose of eliminating acute dental and postoperative pain.
