Sažetak
Recently, porous organic polymers (POPs) emerged as a versatile platform for design of promising materials showing excellent potential in gas storage and separation, catalysis, optoelectronics and sensing. Design of POPs with diverse topologies is based on connection of predetermined molecular organic building blocks through covalent bonds. Application of POPs relies on their high surface area, low density, and high thermal and chemical stability. One of the major environmental concerns nowadays is the increased concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere, the main greenhouse gas which is responsible for climate change and global warming. It has been shown that the introduction of nitrogen-rich moieties in POPs could lead to enhanced CO2 uptake and high CO2/N2 selectivity. In our recent work, we focused on the design and characterization of new POPs with incorporated nitrogen functionalities. POPs were studied by using different experimental and computational techniques such as IR and solid-state NMR spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis and DFT calculations. Since the obtained polymers are insoluble powders, solid-state NMR spectroscopy has proven to be particularly well- suited for their structural characterization, confirming the formation of corresponding linkages and identifying unreacted end-groups.
