Sažetak
Chlorinated hydrocarbons are harmful and toxic for the environment and many methods for minimisation and degradation of those compounds are in use today. Chlorophenols, as a group of chlorinated aromatic compounds, could be found as intermediates in production of herbicides, fungicides, dyes in paper mill and are, therefore, often found in wastewater. In this work, the application of Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs) such as Fenton's process and ozonolysis have been studied. The effects of solid particles (zeolites and granulated activated carbon) were also examined. A mathematical model to describe the kinetics of p-chlorophenol degradation was developed. On the basis of ecological parameters such as COD, BOD5, AOX, TC, IC, TOC and IC50 measured before and after the treatment effectiveness of the AOP's has been determined.
