Sažetak
A new nine-node, 27-d.o.f. guadrilateral plate bending element based on Mindlin-Reissner theory is proposed. The formulation of the element is derived on the basis of displacement variational principle using some simple criteria in order to eliminate undesirable shear locking effect. It is shown that the element is free of spurious modes, satisfies the patch test and its performance is good both for thick and thin plates. The shear strain-sampling points of element are located at optimal positions which is shown by using the concept of reduced minimization.
