Sažetak
It is the UNESCO's standpoint that documentary heritage in archives, libraries and museums constitutes a major part of the memory of the peoples of the world and reflects the diversity of peoples, languages and cultures. In their mission to preserve intangible cultural heritage, specialists and others are familiar with its fragility and take all measures at their disposal to prevent losing important sources of information. For example, valuable materials have still been kept on tapes despite their well- known media life expectancy. The processes of transcription and digitisation have been performed, but the momentum and quantity of work is disputable. Besides, there are many private tape collections unknown to the scientific community, the content of which may help enrich the existing cultural funds and enable researchers to explore new contents in philology, (micro)history, ethnography and other fields. Recently discovered family tapes enable the academic community to listen to the voice of a woman born and raised in the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. Her language and reflections as well as the events she recalls present a subject worthy of more research in different scientific fields.
