This paper discusses the position of ECEC and all its stakeholders during the COVID-19 pandemic as researched and written about by the academic community during the first year of the pandemics. It provides a review of papers on the topic published in relevant journals and books. The paper deliberates on the prevalence of topics written about as well as the lens through which they were discussed - that of the researcher, parent, early childhood teacher, children or the child.
