Sažetak
The effects of different silica sources on the synthesis of zeolites were investigated by crystallization of zeolites from freshly prepared and aged aluminosilcate gels as well as from the mother liquors separated from the gels. Products of crystallization were characterized by XRD, FTIR spectroscopy, scanning-electron microscopy, particle-size analysis and elemental analysis. While the properties of zeolites crystallized from the entire hydrogels were not affected by the silica source used, type, particle size and particle shape of the zeolites crystallized from the clear aluminosilicate solutions (mother liquors) considerably depended on the silica source. The differences may be explained by different mechanisms of nucleation in the gel and solution.
