Sažetak
In the textile field the most common source of electrostatic charge is contact charging, better known as triboelectric charging. Materials are ranked in a triboelectric series according to how they charge when rubbed against other materials in the series. The series only show trends but not the amounts of charge generated. There is no the European standard related to testing electrostatic properties or instrument for directly determining the amount of electrostatic charge generated in textile material when rubbed against another one. The standard EN 1149 provides test methods for measurement of surface resistivity (part 1), vertical resistance (part 2) and charge decay (part 3). Therefore, with the purpose of generating and determining the usability of generated electrostatic charge through rubbing of two textile materials, an adequate measuring instrument and method was developed.
