Sažetak
Abstract. Purpose: The issue of work refers to the determination of foreign direct investment in the territory of the Republic of Croatia in relation to the surrounding countries. Research methodology: The analysis of statistical data on foreign direct investment by industry and country will determine the position of the Republic of Croatia. Findings: Comparing secondary data on foreign direct investment and determining the position of the Republic of Croatia will enable the detection of key barriers to investment activities. Research limitations: Research limitations are manifested in the inability to collect the broader context of foreign direct investment and the unavailability of data on them. Practical implications: The conducted analysis aims to gain insight into the state of direct investments in the Republic of Croatia and how successful Croatia is in attracting foreign investors. Originality / Value: The contribution of the paper is manifested in the theoretical clarification of concepts related to foreign direct investment and the detection of key insights into the position of the Republic of Croatia in relation to other countries in the region from the aspect of foreign direct investment.
