Sažetak
The new trends and approaches in spatial economics include the circular economics, new economic geography and model core periphery with the goal of sustainable resource management and economic processes. These three segments were described and evaluated in this study. Furthermore, these trends represent the foundation of the development and programming of expert knowledge systems within the digitalization of broad activities. Such systems are a rapidly increasing in the world, especially from the point of view of digitalization of knowledge. As a consequence of globalization in the world, there is a large amount of information that needs to be processed in an appropriate way. Only digital knowledge, in all areas of human activity, can serve structures and managers in order to make the fastest and highest quality decisions, as a basis for economic efficiency and growth. The implementation of geoinformation technologies in economics already offers numerous processing advantages, which is expected to be further expanded with the development of GIS and remote sensing technology.
