Sažetak
This work aims at assessing the performance and emissions of two-stroke low-speed marine diesel engines running on hydrogen additive in diesel fuel. Several simulations of the two-stroke low- speed marine diesel engine has been performed with AVL Boost multi zone combustion model. Calibration and validation of the engine model have been performed according to the measured parameters of the actual engine running on marine diesel oil. Analysis was conducted to determine whether the use of hydrogen additive can meet the requirements of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Tier III regulations for NOx emissions. The research described the potential use of hydrogen additive in diesel fuel to reduce NOx emissions in the operation of two stroke low-speed marine engines.
