Sažetak
In this chapter, we examine, through the lens of sustainability, the energy policies and activities of Italy and Croatia, with an emphasis on their coastal and offshore activities in the Adriatic Sea. With recent discoveries of new reserves of oil and natural gas in the Adriatic Sea, the need for coordinated cooperation between these countries in developing and implementing sustainable energy strategies that consider the fragility of this semi-closed ecosystem is of utmost importance. We analyse Italy and Croatia’s energy profiles, existing energy strategies and their coastal and offshore activities in the Adriatic Sea and then discuss policy implications.
