Sažetak
The aim of this study was to assess the quality of Croatian wines coming from conventional and organic production in accordance with the European wine regulations, as well as to differentiate them on the basis of simple enological descriptors, sensorial evaluation and chemometric methods. For this purpose, 25 organic wine samples and 25 of their non- organic counterparts obtained in the process of control before putting the wine on the market were analysed for the following parameters: relative density, alcoholic strength, total alcoholic strength, total dry extract, sugar-free extract, reducing sugars, content of total acids, non-volatile acids and volatile acids, ash, free and total SO2, pH, and the sensorial quality of the wine by the OIV method of 100 points. The possibilities of differentiation of organic an non-organic wines grown in Croatia using efficient methods of wine components’ analyses is conducted with analysis of variance (ANOVA) as well as multivariate data analysis: principal component analysis (PCA).
