Sažetak
Continuous production decline of Croatian oil fields and inadequate replacement of reserves endangers future domestic oil production. Further exploration in Croatia incorporates high risk and costs, and introduction of enhanced oil recovery CO2 injection method to three largest oil fields in Croatia - Beničanci, Ivanić and Žutica - could extend their productive life for 20 years. Initial calculations show that an additional recovery of up to 15 million tons of oil could be achieved. These results have to be confirmed by numerical modelling and pilot tests.
