Sažetak
Titanium and its alloys, due to their good characteristics, are increasingly used in industry. To improve the tribological properties of Ti-alloys to extend the life cycle and raise productivity, the use of coating procedures such as physical vapor deposition is increasing. The development of new technologies for surface preparation has a significant impact on the adhesion of the coatings. Procedures, such as laser surface treatment, show excellent results to improve the topography and surface roughness. Laser processing enables non-contact surface treatment of the material, excellent control of heat absorption, and the ability to steer the laser beam to small areas. The properties of TiN coating applied to the laser-treated surface of Ti-6Al-4V alloys were investigated in this paper.
