Sažetak
New Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAVs or drones) technology is being hi-jacked by those with hostile intentions, adopting and adapting the use of drones for their own nefarious purposes, thereby creating a new counter-drone and drone-detection industry to prevent harm. Unfortunately, in the wrong hands, drones have the capacity to damage, destroy, disrupt and when used as a terrorist tactic, have the capability to conduct deadly and determined attacks. This threat initiated a rapid development of several drone detection and neutralisation systems, which are different in terms of sensors used, level of operator involvement, situation awareness, etc. So far, the family of Electro-Optical (EO) detectors was presented only as a supportive tool, that helps the operator filter possible false positive reactions, gives more information about the nature of the threat, etc. In this paper a novel fully autonomous Electro-Optical drone detection system is presented, that implements the detection, classification, and localisation of drones with no operator involvement.
